Kyle W. Wilson ( Age 91)
Of Silver Spring, Maryland passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 surrounded by family. He died from complications of dementia.
Kyle was born on January 5, 1925 to Jacob and Ella Wilson in Daybrook, West Virginia. He attended Fairmont State University where he played football and basketball, earned his graduate degree at West Virginia University as well as enlisted in the Navy. Kyle married the love of his life, Ellen, on June 17, 1949. They moved to Maryland where Kyle was employed as a Physical Education teacher, basketball coach, athletic director, high school administrator, and served as an administrator for Montgomery County Board of Education. He was above all else a beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend, and coach. Kyle was dedicated to his family, passionate about providing guidance to others, and was known for his good-natured sense of humor and love of desserts.
Kyle is survived by his wife, Ellen; three daughters, Shelley (Daniel) Baranowski, Dania (Jay) Dicken and Audrey (Craig) Estrain; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Pauline and preceded in death by his brother Sam.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 22, at 2 p.m. at Glenmont United Methodist Church, 12901 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD, 20906, with a memorial service beginning at 3 p.m. To honor his memory, donations can be made to the Alzheimer/Dementia Foundation or Glenmont United Methodist Church.
